No injuries reported after warehouse fire in Delaware

DELAWARE, Ohio - No one was hurt in a warehouse fire in Delaware, Ohio, according to the Delaware Fire Department.

The fire department responded to a warehouse in the 400 block of Park Avenue at 4 a.m. Monday because they were alerted to a sprinkler alarm inside.

When firefighters arrived, there was a fire inside and they called for more firefighters to respond because of the size of the warehouse.

As of 6 a.m. firefighters were conducting overhaul operations and checking for any other fire in the building.

The fire department said the warehouse belongs to Phoenix Industries.

Inside the warehouse is condensed coconut shell, which is used in the fertilization process, according to the fire department.

Firefighters said there is no chemical threat from the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Park Avenue is closed near the scene.
