ERIE, Penn. — An animal shelter in Pennsylvania is crediting state authorities with saving some small furry friends from the cold.
According to a Facebook post from The ANNA Shelter in Erie, a trooper heard some "odd squeaking sounds" during a traffic stop on the morning of Jan. 31.
After he was done with the stop, the trooper looked around the side of the road and found guinea pigs in the snow.
The shelter says of the five guinea pigs found, two didn't survive. The shelter then took over in caring for the critters.
