For a third time on Wednesday, a weapon was found at a Columbus school. The latest incident occurred at Mifflin High School on Oak Spring Street.
A Columbus City School spokesman tells 10TV a student alerted school administrators that another pupil may possess a firearm.
That student was removed from class by the principal and a resource officer, when the gun was located. It’s unclear what type of gun was found or where it was discovered. It is also unknown if it was loaded.
The student was removed from the school and is now in police custody. The student faces possible expulsion for up to a year from Mifflin High School.
The school was not placed on lockdown during the incident.
This comes just hours after two weapons were found at Sherwood Middle School in east Columbus.
There were 11 guns found in Columbus City Schools last school year.
