Police ID Suspected Campus-Area Shooter

We are learning more details about a weekend shooting that occurred in an Ohio State campus-area parking garage.

Police on Monday identified Ricardo Conley as the person who fired a shot inside the SouthCampus Gateway parking garage early Sunday.

Investigators were searching for Conley Monday evening, CrimeTracker 10's Angela Anreported.

Police said that Conley was in an argument with Nevin Cousin Jr. as they were leaving the 11thAvenue garage and shot Cousin in the neck.

Cousin is on life support, An reported.

In the past week, CrimeTracker 10 found 52 crimes in the neighborhood just off campus, including13 assaults, four break-ins and one robbery.

Most of the assaults took place between midnight and 3 a.m.  One man told police he wasrobbed at 8:30 p.m., An reported.

South Campus Gateway management told 10TV that is has onsite security 24 hours a day, 7 days aweek.

Three security staff members worked the night of the shooting, along with four special dutyColumbus police officers that Gateway hired.

CrimeTracker 10 learned that two of the special duty officers were inside the garage at the timeof the shooting but were directing traffic because of the high amount of vehicles leaving thegarage.

Surveillance cameras located inside the garage captured the shooting, An reported.

Half of the Gateway's 100 cameras are stationed inside the garage.

Gateway management said that it is now reviewing its garage operations policy to see how theycan keep everyone safe after Sunday's shooting and another one in July that killed a man.

Detectives said that they were reviewing surveillance video from the garage for any new clues tothe shooting.
