At least two people were taken to the hospital after a Sunday morning building collapse.
It happened around 6:45 a.m. on West Main Street in West Jefferson.
West Jefferson Police dispatchers say about four people were inside and at least two people were transported to the hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
The building was a multi-purpose building. The first floor had a business and the second floor had apartment units.
The Red Cross is helping the people who live inside the building.
There was no immediate word on what caused the building to collapse.
One eastbound lane of U.S. 40 is closed due to the collapse.
