Former President George W. Bush took to social media Friday to give thanks to federal employees and call for an end to the government shutdown.

Bush posted a photo of him on Instagram delivering pizzas to his Secret Service detail, KENS5 reported.

“(Laura Bush) and I are grateful to our Secret Service personnel and the thousands of Federal employees who are working hard for our country without a paycheck. And we thank our fellow citizens who are supporting them. It’s time for leaders on both sides to put politics aside, come together, and end this shutdown,” he wrote in his post.

Bush’s deed joins many others showing support for federal workers impacted by the partial government shutdown. TSA workers and air traffic controllers also received pizzas, and several businesses are offering deals to employees struggling to make ends meet without a paycheck.
