Man Shot, Killed In Front Of Wife & Kids At Golden Corral Near Dublin

Columbus Police said the victim is 40 years old and was shot in front of his wife and six kids during an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the restaurant.

A man is dead following a shooting at a Golden Corral near Dublin.

The shooting occurred around 6:30 Friday evening outside the Golden Corral located at 3710 West Dublin Granville Road in Columbus.

Columbus Police said Shueyb Abukar, 40, and was shot in front of his wife and six kids during an attempted robbery in the parking lot of the restaurant.  

Police said the family was leaving the restaurant when the crime happened.

The suspect did not get away with any money.

Abukar died at Riverside Methodist Hospital after being shot twice.

Columbus Police tell 10TV they are searching for two suspects.

One is described as a black male, around 5'6", about 160-170 pounds and was last seeing a red hooded sweatshirt and red pants with Ohio State logos on his clothes.

No description was provided for the second suspect.

Police said the suspects may be in a tan sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla.

Police are interviewing witnesses.

Golden Corral released a statement saying, "We were shocked and saddened to learn that one of our guests lost his life during an apparent robbery outside our West Dublin Granville Road location. We extend our deepest sympathies to the victim's family. Our local restaurant management is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities. The location in question has been closed temporarily as the criminal investigation continues. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family at this most difficult time."
