A young Ohio boy with spina bifida made big steps at his preschool graduation Saturday — literally.
Blake’s mom, Megan Mompher, shared a video of her son walking across the stage for his graduation from Crosswood Preschool in Marion.
Megan tells 10TV Blake was walking a little in the fall but had some medical complications. He started walking again three weeks ago. He had worked with a therapist to get him ready for the big day Saturday.
“Blake walked on the stage today for his preschool graduation, a goal I set for him at the beginning of this year, not knowing what medical trauma was ahead of us. Not a dry eye in the room! He did it,” she said.
Not only was Blake excited, but Megan also said his classmates had never seen him walk before.
In October, Blake went viral with his creative school bus Halloween costume. His grandfather made him the "Blake County Schools" costume that worked with his wheelchair.
Blake will be going to kindergarten next.
