Volunteers help wounded warriors in central Ohio enjoy the water

About 70 veterans got the chance to do things like kayak, wakeboard, and water ski at Adventure Center in Powell.

POWELL - Adaptive Sports Connection is partnering with the Wounded Warrior Project for a Water Sports Weekend in central Ohio.

About 70 veterans -- along with other adults with disabilities -- got the chance to do things like kayak, wakeboard, and water ski at Adventure Center in Powell.

One veteran braved a new adventure with a little obstacle in his way. Jeffrey Daniels is legally blind but still wanted to give water skiing a try.

Daniels and his best friend have been on many journeys, so this chance to water ski for the first time posed a challenge. With a little help, Daniels was on his feet for the ride of a lifetime.

“I'm enjoying and conquering a whole lot of things in life that I wouldn't have dreamed of,” said Daniels.

The event runs through Sunday.
