39-year-old man dead after vehicle loses control, rolls over in Union County

A preliminary investigation determined that unsafe speed was a factor in the crash and Snider appeared to not have been wearing a seat belt.

UNION COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A Pennsylvania man was killed in a crash in Union County early Sunday morning.

Just after 2:10 a.m., the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a serious crash in the 25000 block of state Route 347.

Deputies and units from the Northwestern Fire District and the Allen Township Fire Department arrived and found a white 2009 Toyota RAV4 flipped upside down.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the vehicle lost control, drove off the road and rolled over several times before coming to a stop.

The driver, who authorities identified as 39-year-old Steven Snider of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, was ejected from the vehicle. There were no other occupants in the RAV4.

Snider suffered serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital where he later died.

A preliminary investigation determined that unsafe speed was a factor in the crash and Snider appeared to not have been wearing a seat belt, according to the sheriff’s office.
