HILLIARD, Ohio - On World Yoga Day on Friday, about a dozen veterans gathered at a studio in Hilliard for a free class.
Melanie Ross is a Warriors at Ease certified yoga instructor and a veteran.
“When my dad was diagnosed with cancer he always told me to breathe through this, we can stretch through this,” Ross said.
That is why she is so excited to take part in the World Yoga Day for team Red, White and Blue which is a non-profit with a mission to help veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
“Including yoga in the repertoire of what we do, lets them learn they can relax and find strength through those movements,” said Robin Zehnder Muskopf.
Friday night these warriors held their poses and let all the stress go.
“If I can get somebody to be able to just breathe and get through things and get through their day, it makes a world of difference,” Ross said.
