15-year-old injured in shooting on east side of Columbus

Police were called to Easthaven Court North around 10:25 p.m. Friday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital after being injured in a shooting on the east side of Columbus Friday night. 

According to Columbus police, officers were called to Easthaven Court North near Wadsworth Drive around 10:25 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

Police say the boy was walking home when he was approached by a red Chevy Cruze.

Authorities say passengers in the vehicle pulled out guns and ordered the victim to get in the car. The boy then ran away from the vehicle and someone in the car shot him in the right thigh.

The boy was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
