Protesters march in Columbus over lack of charges in Breonna Taylor's death

The protesters began marching through downtown around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.

People gathered in downtown Columbus on Wednesday night to protest a grand jury's decision not to charge officers with the death of Breonna Taylor.

A grand jury announced that Officer Brett Hankison was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment in connection to the police raid on the night of March 13.

A group of protesters gathered a South High Street and East Broad Street around 7 p.m.

The protesters in Columbus believe there should have been charges related to her death, but more than that, they're angry over systemic racism.

People marched in the streets repeating "say her name" and "Black Lives Matter."

They also gathered near the steps of the Ohio Statehouse calling for change and justice.

Compared to the protests earlier this year following the death of George Floyd, there was little police presence Wednesday night.
