COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting that happened early Sunday morning in south Columbus.
Police say the shooting happened around 1 a.m. near Greenlawn Avenue and South High Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found 26-year-old Jeffrey Long with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m.
Police say Long and a man, now identified by police as 32-year-old Reginald DeJarnett, Jr. were in a fight before the shooting.
On June 16, police obtained a warrant for DeJarnett's arrest on a murder charge. DeJarnett showed up at CPD headquarters to surrender to authorities. He is currently in the Franklin County Jail.
