COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police have identified the man who was killed in a fatal crash on I-270 on the city’s west side Wednesday night.
According to police, a semi was disabled and stopped in the right lane of I-270 southbound, just south of Roberts Road due to a mechanical problem. The driver of the semi was outside the vehicle.
Fifty-three-year-old James Frye, who was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on I-270, struck the rear of the semi. Frye was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
