Police: Cheerleading coach "hockey checked" & robbed at north Columbus McDonald's

Police say a cheerleading coach was robbed around 7 p.m. on Nov. 24 when leaving a McDonald's on Sinclair Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Columbus police are asking for help identifying a robbery suspect.

Police say a cheerleading coach was robbed around 7 p.m. on Nov. 24 when leaving a McDonald's on Sinclair Road.

The 50-year-old woman and three other coaches were leaving the restaurant when an unknown male suspect "hockey checked" the coach from behind, according to a police report. The suspect fled toward the Worthington Village Apartments with the victim's purse which contained cash and credit cards.

Police believe that the suspect loitered inside the McDonald's.
and that he also followed two women to the restroom and waited outside the door.
