Pilot walks away after single-plane crash in Knox County

Officials said Sunday the runway will remain closed until August 3 as crews clean the wreckage.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Knox County Sheriff and Mount Vernon post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a small plane crash at the Knox County Airport.

According to a spokesperson at the airport, the crash happened around 10:45 Saturday morning while the pilot, the only occupant in the plane, was landing on the runway.

The pilot did not suffer any injuries, according to a spokesperson at the airport.

Officials said Sunday the runway will remain closed until August 3 as crews clean the wreckage.
