CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say a 12-year-old Cleveland boy was killed this week when a gun he and his brother found in their father’s truck was accidentally fired.

Thirty-seven-year-old Donell King Sr. is charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and a weapons offense in the death of his son, Donell King Jr.

Authorities say the boy and his brother found the gun Monday afternoon and the brother picked it up.

Donell Jr. tried to take the gun away, but authorities sat the weapon somehow fired and Donell Jr. was struck in the chest. His brother, who wasn’t injured, ran to a nearby police station to report the shooting.
