The city of Dayton has announced funeral arrangements for Dayton Police Detective Jorge R. Del Rio.
Del Rio was shot while working with a Drug Enforcement Administration task force serving a warrant on Monday. He passed away Thursday.
In a release sent out Thursday evening, the city said the viewing will be Monday, November 11, 2019 from 4 -9 p.m. at the University of Dayton Arena.
Del Rio's funeral will be Tuesday, November 12 at the University of Dayton Arena from 12 - 2 p.m. The final salute will be after the funeral service in the lot of the arena.
There will be no graveside service.
A procession of marked and unmarked law enforcement vehicles will accompany Del Rio's body back to the funeral home following the funeral and final salute.
The city said additional details will be released as they are finalized.
Del Rio is a 30-year veteran of the Dayton Police Department and has been with the DEA task force since 2000.
He leaves behind his wife Kathy, five daughters, three grand-daughters, and another grandchild on the way.
Governor Mike DeWine has ordered that U.S. and Ohio flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of Del Rio.
