CLEVELAND (AP) — The mother of a girl struck and killed by a teenage carjacking suspect at the end of a high-speed chase has sued 22 Cleveland police officers who her attorneys say were involved in the pursuit.

Thirteen-year-old Tamia Chappman was killed in December when the car jumped the curb and struck her as she walked from an East Cleveland elementary school to the city's library.

Police say the chase began miles away in Cleveland after the 15-year-old boy and another teen carjacked a woman.

Attorneys for Sherrie Chappman say officers violated departmental policy and state law by not ending the pursuit.
