COLUMBUS, Ohio — The unemployment rate in Ohio dropped to 8.4% in September, which the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said is down from 8.9% in August.
In June, the rate was 11%.
September's rate in Ohio is more than the U.S. unemployment rate of 7.9%.
The state reported Thursday that more than 20,000 unemployment claims were filed for the week ending with October 10.
The unemployment rate in Ohio in September 2019 was 4.1%.
