Since then he's fully recovered.

But his wife also contracted the virus, as did his son.

But Cooper Zawada was asymptomatic when he was tested a few weeks ago.

"You can think of it in 3 different levels, very low symptoms or asymptomatic. April and I were sick. It was probably the worst flu ever but we were at home. And there's worse than that get admitted to the hospital for some more aggressive treatment," explains Brian.

Cooper says he's a good reminder of why masks are so important since he showed no symptoms.

"You can think you have a cold, 'I don't have coronavirus, it's not that bad,' and you go out and get someone sick and that's no good," says Cooper.

Brian is now donating his plasma to help others.

"I'll call it the pain or air quotes "inconvenience" of donating plasma is so far less than the people on a ventilator. All the tests and studies out there helping people in a last resort, I think it's the right thing to do," Brian says.

Meantime, after recovering from the virus, Brian continues to get a lot of questions.

"Do people treat you in a negative way because you had it or is there a negative stigma? I'm not a threat to you, you're not a threat to me, once people realize that it puts people at ease," he says.
