Ohio is putting out a challenge in the fight against opiates.

The Ohio Third Frontier, a commission that advances promising technology, is asking for ideas to solve the opiate crisis.

It's called the Ohio Opioid Technology Challenge.

Anyone can submit an idea over the next two months. The ideas will be vetted. The five with the highest probability of success will be chosen.

Cash prizes will be given and the challenge is setting aside $8 million dollars to advance the new ideas.

“If you think there is a solution to this problem if you think there’s a way to address it that no one is addressing it,” said Ohio Third Frontier Commission Chair David Goodman.
