COLUMBUS, Ohio - A new exhibit at COSI is teaching families how to correctly recycle, reduce, and reuse.
SWACO, or the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio, has been partners with COSI for years. They wanted to get a message across to the public on how to properly recycle. They took an exhibit that was already in place in the center and incorporated a new game.
"The information we share with our guests is pretty exciting as you start to learn what should be recycled and what shouldn't," said Josh Sarver who is the vice president of exhibits and programs for COSI.
The game allows guests to sort things to decide what should go to the landfill and what should be recycled.
"The kids get to come up and as they're playing with the game and they're sorting things on the screen the adults get to look at the screen next to it in the cases and think about what can I do at home. What can I do at work? What can really make a difference in my life?"
Sarver says the hope is that parents will also take in the lessons so that they can reinforce the lessons with their kids and other family members when they get home.
