COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus police are investigating a crash that left a man dead Thursday night.
According to police, the crash happened in the 5700 block of North Hamilton Road shortly after 11 p.m.
Police say 60-year-old Mark Eyer, of Johnstown, was traveling north on North Hamilton Road on a motorcycle. As he approached a roundabout at Old Hamilton Road, authorities say he hit the curb and a yield sign.
Eyer was thrown from the motorcycle. He came to rest in grass in the middle of the roundabout.
He was taken to Mt. Carmel East Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m.
The Accident Investigation Unit went to the scene.
Roads in the area were initially shut down but have since reopened.
