Man accused of killing Kirkersville police chief identified

The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Thomas Hartless.

10TV has learned the identity of the man accused of shooting and killing three people Friday in Kirkersville.

The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Thomas Hartless.

Hartless is accused of killing Kirkersville Police Chief Steven DiSario and two employees at the Pine Kirk Care Center.

According to court records, Hartless has a criminal record dating back to an assault in 1992.

Hartless also has three different domestic violence charges against him since 2016. He was also charged in 2009 with abduction.

Chief DiSario, 36, had only been on the job for three weeks, according to officials. DiSario had five children and a sixth on the way.

Authorities have not identified the other two victims at this time.

Gov. Kasich has ordered all flags be flown at half-staff at all public buildings in Licking County and at the Ohio Statehouse through sunset on May 16 to honor those who were killed.
