Taking a little break from the traditional school day, Upper Arlington chucked the curriculum and let students satisfy their curiosity. It's called Idea Day, the second year Upper Arlington High School has held it.
There are 90 sessions students can attend to inspire original thinking and conversation and hear from and interact with experts in their area of interest.
“Today is supposed to be a chance to not have to explain why you took a class on your transcript but to say, 'hey, I’m interested in this,'” said Idea Day Director Laura Moore.
Upper Arlington is hoping this catches on to become a 614 Idea Day. They invited leaders from numerous other school districts who also attended.
