COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 14-year-old boy is charged with murder in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy on I-270.
The shooting happened on August 13, around 10:35 p.m., in the southbound lanes near Hall Road.
Police said Dominic Rodriguez, 16, and a 17-year-old boy were traveling on the interstate when shots were fired at their vehicle.
Both were taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Rodriguez died from his injuries on Sept. 4.
The 17-year-old is expected to be OK, police said.
It is unclear what led to the shooting.
On Oct. 16, police said 14-year-old Levi Santiago had been arrested and charged with murder in the case.
This is the 98th homicide of 2020 in the city of Columbus.
