"I could've killed you": Columbus officer responding to call finds boys with realistic-looking BB gun

The two boys were in possession of a BB gun and the officer said on the video when he arrived he drew his weapon on the boys.

“This is getting kids killed all over the country."

Those are the first words heard in a video released by Columbus Police Monday from a Saturday incident involving an 11- and 13-year-old black children.

According to a social media post by police, the incident involved Officer Peter Casuccio, who was called to a gun run Saturday evening. The location was not released.

The two boys were in possession of a BB gun and the officer said on the video when he arrived he drew his weapon on the boys.

Officer Casuccio is later shown talking to the mother of the 11-year-old, saying he drew on the boys when he arrived on the scene.

“I pulled up and I’m not gonna lie, I drew down on them. He freaks out and he starts to pull the gun out of his waistband.”

“He coulda shot you for that, you know that?” the mother is heard saying.

“I don’t know it was a BB gun until it hit the sidewalk,” Casuccio said.

“Regardless of what people say about the dudes wearing this uniform, we care.”

The video ends with Casuccio final thoughts:

“The last thing I ever want to do is shoot an 11-year-old, man. Because your life hasn’t even gotten started yet and it could have ended because I wouldn’t have missed. I could have killed you. I want to think about tonight when you go to bed. You could be gone. Everything you want to do in this life could have been over.”
