Ginther tweeted about the video Monday afternoon.

"I have seen the video and photo of the disabled man downtown last night. We are taking the matter very seriously and working diligently to find video, photos and additional information."

The mayor asked anyone with first-hand accounts, video or photos to send them to reportCPD@columbus.gov.

Pepper spray was used Sunday after police said protesters moved from sidewalks into the streets downtown and refused to disperse.

Police said the use followed the rules of engagement enacted by Gither and Police Chief Thomas Quinlan.
