Amid the COVID-19 crisis, we also want to focus on the helpers.
Right now Columbus restaurant owners are coming together to feed hundreds of their own.
Last week 10TV told you about "Service" - a local relief project for service industry employees.
Owners of three Columbus Restaurants organized the effort to provide free meals every day to up to 400 people. Tuesday they handed out the first meals.
"This isn't about pride. This isn't about any of that," said Sangeeta Lakhani, one of the organizers. "This is people in the service industry helping out people in the service industry. Come eat. We're cooking for you. So take advantage of it, you know? Come eat. We're here to feed you. We're here to take care of our community."
The meals are free to service industry workers and their families. You can go online to place your order, for pick-up the next day.
