Coroner rules deaths of man, woman found inside South Linden home murder-suicide

Two children were also found inside and taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital, but police said they were not injured.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man and a woman were found dead inside a South Linden home earlier this year and the Franklin County Coroner's Office has ruled their deaths as a murder-suicide.

On March 30, officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 1300 block of East 26th Avenue around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a dead woman.

Officers found 22-year-old Cassandra Salters and 24-year-old Zhairon Jerez Shemmar Scales dead inside from apparent gunshot wounds.

The Franklin County Coroner determined that Scale fatally shot Salters before taking his own life.

Two children were also found inside and taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital, but police said they were not injured.

This is the 115th homicide in Columbus this year.
