Crew fans celebrate with documentary

Crew fans celebrated the deal that will likely lead to the team staying in Columbus.
COLUMBUS--
It's a giant celebration after a long-fought match

“I feel like I want to break down in tears of joy. It's been fourteen months of agony and uncertainty and it's finally over,” said fan Peter Shehata.

“I don't know if that can be put into words. We've been waiting on this for well over a year,” said fan Josh Blanton.

Save the Crew supporters met at Endeavor Brewing company to celebrate, relax, and watch the drama play out on the big screen.

“People can collapse into their chair with relief and say finally I can relax, we are out of the woods,” said film director, Sean Kelly.

Kelly has been shooting a documentary about the struggle to keep the Crew in Columbus. He says it's time to focus less on the stressful things in life.

“Let's go back to normal, let's talk about soccer, let's not talk about politics."

Fans say they too want to move forward and look ahead, and have big goals for the new owners.

“Out of the new ownership I would love to see them more involved. The last ownership group was out of state,” Blanton said.

“I would like to see more of a brand presence and more of a partnership with other businesses within Columbus,” Shehata said.
