CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - Many people are searching for words to describe the current events unfolding nationwide.

Chillicothe’s John Gray took pen to paper to write a song that could shed light on racial injustice.

Gray told 10TV his inspiration stemmed from a challenge from his father to “write about my feelings and frustrations pertaining to the current and ongoing unrest and systemic racism and oppression felt in the black community.”

The music video was shot at his father’s church, Zion Baptist Church in Chillicothe.

“I did my best to display the message and my own personal feelings in a way that could not only bring light to the problem areas but also offer hope and a voice to a people and generation that feel unheard,” Gray said.

The video has already caught the attention of many around central Ohio.

“My goal for this entire project is to spark a conversation, to stimulate the mind and ears in a way that causes a response and change,” Gray said.
