LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a child is dead after a crash in Licking County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened just after 8 p.m. Friday.
Troopers say two vehicles were on the ramp from State Route 158 to Interstate 70 westbound when the second vehicle rear-ended the first vehicle, which had slowed due to heavy traffic.
Troopers say both vehicles went off the right side of the roadway on I-70.
OSHP confirms a girl in the back seat of the first vehicle died from her injuries, while the driver and two other passengers, including another child, were taken to local hospitals.
Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The child's name and age has not been released.
Police say no charges have been filed at this time, but the crash remains under investigation.
