Today the Cardinal Health Foundation and Kroger are working together to provide local collection sites for people to safely dispose of unused and expired prescription medications. The event is called Drug Take Back Day and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.

There are more than 200 sites collecting prescription medications in Ohio and will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This is in relation to the opioid epidemic and the struggles many faces with addiction. Law enforcement will be at the sites accepting medications and providing more information.

The Dublin Police Department is one of the locations people are able to go to, to dispose of prescription medications. They have a 24/7 dropbox, but do not accept syringes or inhalers. They also do not need over the counter medications such as Advil, DayQuil, Asprin, or allergy medications.
