Buckeye Alert issued after reported stabbing near campus; suspect arrested

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State Police are investigating an incident where someone says their girlfriend was stabbed near OSU's campus Sunday evening and a search is underway for the suspect.

According to Columbus police, they received a 911 call from someone around 6:20 p.m. about a stabbing near the Target on North High Street.

Shortly after that, an alert from OSU Police stated that there was a reported assault with a knife in the same area. 

The alert also stated that the suspect is a white male, scruffy beard with dark tanktop and dark pants. He was last seen running toward campus.

The victim was not seriously injured and was not transported to the hospital.

Around 9:30 p.m. an alert was sent out saying the suspect had been caught. No other details are known at this time.
