CIRCLEVILLE – The Circleville Police Department said several people were arrested while working at the Circleville Pumpkin Show this year.
Police said the 20 arrests were made between October 17 – October 21 with the help of the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, Circleville Municipal Court Probation, Chillicothe Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Homeland Security, and the Ohio Investigative Unit.
“We were able to provide this safe environment through careful planning, partnerships, and a desire to constantly improve our law enforcement skills,” Circleville Police Chief G. Shawn Baer said in a statement.
“Our goal was to seamlessly blend in and make the event safe while still aggressively stopping criminal activity.”
Of those arrests, the Circleville Police Department said 10 were for drug paraphernalia, two were for prostitution, three were for child endangering, one was for theft, and one was for the sale of alcohol to someone under the age of 21.
Police said they seized heroin, marijuana, a fentanyl patch, crack cocaine, and prescription pills.
