Arrest made after man shot and killed at Grove City motel

Officers identified the suspect as 20-year-old Robert Perez III, who was found around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday hiding in the 2000 block of Winslow Drive in southeast Columbus.

GROVE CITY, Ohio - Grove City police arrested a man for murder after he allegedly shot and killed a man.

Police said a man was found dead at the Motel 6 on Stringtown Road around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses told police he had been shot by another motel guest after an argument.

Officers identified the suspect as 20-year-old Robert Perez III, who was found around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday hiding in the 2000 block of Winslow Drive in southeast Columbus.

Perez is in custody at the Franklin County Jail.

The victim has not been identified as police are still notifying his next of kin.

Grove City police said Perez had several other warrants out for his arrest including for receiving stolen property in Franklin County, aggravated menacing in Wooster, theft in Richmond Heights, and robbery, aggravated robbery, theft, and receiving stolen property in Cuyahoga County.
