610 WTVN radio host John Corby dies at 61

John Corby, an icon in Columbus radio, passed away Saturday morning, according to 610 WTVN. He was 61.

COLUMBUS -- John Corby, an icon in Columbus radio, passed away Saturday morning, according to 610 WTVN. He was 61.

WTVN announced his sudden passing on its website.

WTVN wrote in part, “With deep shock and sadness we report that longtime afternoon host John Corby on News Radio 610 WTVN died unexpectedly Saturday morning.”

According to WTVN, Corby started as WNCI’s News Director and morning show co-host and then moved to WTVN from 1984-94. After a stint in Pittsburgh, he moved back to Columbus where he has been an afternoon host since 1997.

In addition to the thousands of loyal WTVN listeners, Corby leaves behind his wife, daughter, sister and his mother and father, the article said.
