20-year-old dies days after shooting in south Columbus

The shooting was reported shortly before 3 a.m. on Feb. 5 in the 3000 block of Markham Road.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 20-year-old man who was one of two people injured in a south Columbus shooting early Sunday morning has died.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the scene of the shooting in the 3000 block of Markham Road shortly before 3 a.m.

When police arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to local hospitals.

Police said one of those victims, 20-year-old Marchel Brooks, was pronounced dead at Grant Medical Center on Tuesday morning.

There is no suspect information available at this time as the homicide unit continues to investigate the shooting.
