1 person is dead following home invasion shooting in Blacklick

BLACKLICK, Ohio (10TV) -- One person is dead following a home invasion that turned into a shooting in Blacklick.

Columbus Police say it happened around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday at an apartment complex on Cotterrew Drive.

Witnesses told police unknown suspects forced their way inside their apartment, where they ordered the victims onto the ground and took property from them at gunpoint.

Police say one of the victims, 23-year-old Brandon Fenton, tried to confront one of the suspects and was shot.

Fenton was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

Police have not released a description of any of the suspects at this time.
