Police identify man killed in shooting on South Champion Avenue

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed after an altercation on South Champion Avenue on Thursday.

According to Columbus police, the shooting happened shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of South Champion Avenue and  Lawrence Drive.

Offices responded to the scene and found 26-year-old Delano Royster shot.
He was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition where died at 3:45 p.m.

Officers also found a second man who was injured leaving the scene. He was taken to Grant Medical Center and is expected to be OK. 

A short time later, 25-year-old Trevon Elder was dropped off at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Police said the three men were inside a home when there was a fight and Elder shot Royster.

The other man was not shot but did suffer serious injuries, police said.
Elder was arrested and charged with murder.
