COLUMBUS - The Franklin County coroner's office has released an autopsy report detailing that a gunshot wound to the chest is what killed a 23-year old woman who was shot by a Columbus Division of Police vice officer during a prostitution sting.
The Franklin County coroner also ruled 23-year old Donna Castleberry's death was a homicide.
Columbus police have said that Castleberry was shot by Officer Andrew Mitchell on August 23 after she attacked Mitchell with a knife.
The coroner's report said Castleberry was shot three times and had cocaine and fentanyl in her system.
At the time of the shooting, Mitchell was already the focus of a separate criminal investigation by his own department.
Mitchell has been relieved of his duty while his department and the FBI investigates.
On Friday, 10 Investigates reported that Mitchell has received extra police protection since being placed on leave and owns rental properties that have been linked to more than 500 criminal complaints.
Mitchell has declined to comment to 10 Investigates.
