President Donald Trump took a moment Thursday after landing in Ohio to wish Governor Mike DeWine the best following the news he tested positive for COVID-19.

DeWine was scheduled to greet Trump as he arrived at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland ahead of his tour of the Whirlpool plant and a campaign fundraiser this evening.

According to DeWine's office, he was tested as part of standard protocol to greet the president and tested positive.

The governor is showing no symptoms and is returning to Columbus to be tested again.

“I want to just say that a very good friend of mine just tested positive, do you know that? Our great governor, Governor of Ohio DeWine, just tested positive, just here," Trump said. "And we want to wish him the best. He’ll be fine."

Trump went on to say DeWine is a great guy and has done a fantastic job before acknowledging Lt. Gov. Jon Husted who was in attendance Thursday afternoon.
