A friend of the man accused of supporting terrorism is now in trouble with the law.

Abdiqani Aden, 18, faces a misdemeanor charge of menacing.

Officials say the incident occurred when Aden visited Abdirahman S. Mohamud in the Franklin County jail on Friday. Mohamud, was recently indicted on charges of supporting terrorism and money laundering over the past year and a half.

Aden allegedly became belligerent while at the jail, and deputies asked him to leave. Franklin County deputies say Aden then shaped his hand like a gun and moved it back and forth, repeatedly, while he said something in a foreign language.

The deputy took the motion as a threat.

After Aden left the jail, the incident was investigated and a warrant was issued. When Aden returned for another visit, he was arrested.

Aden entered a not guilty plea, and the judge set a $10,000 bond.

He declined to comment to 10TV when he was released on bond on Tuesday night.

FOP President Jason Pappas said law enforcement take threats very serisousy, especially when it involves a terrorism suspect.
