COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus City Schools and several other districts have canceled classes Wednesday as winter weather hits central Ohio.

The winter weather system started just after midnight Wednesday and will continue into the morning commute. By the mid-morning hours, the snow is expected to turn into a rain/snow mix and eventually rain by the afternoon.
CCS says all extracurricular activities are also canceled. The district anticipates schools being back in session on Thursday.
