COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities say they found two guns at two separate checkpoints at John Glenn Columbus International Airport on Wednesday.
The Transportation Security Administration said a loaded Kimber Micro 9mm handgun was found inside a passenger's carry-on bag around 5:30 a.m.
An unloaded .22-caliber Ruger SR22P was found in another passenger's carry-on bag around 1 p.m.
TSA agents contacted airport police after finding each weapon. Both passengers were escorted from the checkpoint areas.
The Columbus Airport Authority says the person found with the unloaded Ruger is charged with criminal trespassing.
Officials have not said what charge the other passenger will face.
TSA says this is the sixth and seventh gun found at John Glenn Columbus International Airport checkpoints this year. Last year, 29 guns were found.
