'Several' arrests made in Lakewood hit-and-run, police say

The victim, a 61-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police said several people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Lakewood Sunday afternoon.

The Lakewood Police Department said the crash happened just after noon. A 61-year-old man was crossing West Colfax Avenue just west of Sheridan Boulevard when he was hit by a Chevrolet Blazer, police said. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV left the scene headed toward Denver.

Police said Monday evening that several arrests have been made in connection with the crash. It's unclear how many people have been arrested or what charges they may face. Police said due to the nature of the investigation, they are not releasing any other information right now.

Police said they have also recovered the SUV they believe was involved in the crash.

Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-980-7300.
