A Logan County man has been arrested after police say he shot and killed a teenager at an underage drinking party in his home.

Logan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in Lewistown after reports of a shooting Sunday morning just before 4 a.m.

When they arrived, authorities found 16-year-old Brandon Doseck with a gunshot wound.

He was transported to a Bellefontaine hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies found that 20-year-olf Evan J. Hoffman had been hosting the party at the residence when an altercation broke out between several people including Doseck.

Authorities found out Doseck left the home but returned with several other people.

Another incident took place by the front of the home when Doseck entered the residence and had an altercation with Hoffman. This is when Hoffman shot Doseck.

Hoffman then went to confront the rest of Doseck’s friends and fired his weapon again causing minor injuries to two others. Both of those victims declined treatment.

Hoffman was placed under arrest and charged with seven counts of furnishing alcohol to underage persons, seven counts of permitting underage persons to consume alcohol and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Logan County Prosecutor’s Office will examine the deputies finding to determine if additional charges will be filed.
